The Town – Talking about Crime

Scene 1: Crime Scene

Detective 1: You print the inside of the van?

Detective 2: The inside of the van is a volcano.

Detective 1: Just find something and make it look like something that looks like a print. We don’t have enough for a conviction, fine. But I need to get them in a room because right now they are burning the money bands in some bullshit safehouse, all their alibis are paid for a week in advance. We’re not gonna pull any DNA off of this or off the switch car and that as they say, is that. This is the not fucking around crew. So find me something that looks like a print so I can grab one of these assholes and shake their tree… because this not fucking around thing is about to go both ways.

Scene 2: Arrest

What is happening here? Vocabulary?

Scene 3: Suspect Identification

Detective 3: Go ahead, just read what’s on the ____________.

Suspect 1: Come, get on the ground before I pop your fucking teeth out.

Detective 3: Come on read it, read it all, there’s about 5 things ________.

Suspect 1: Uhh…

Detective 3: Geez what the fuck is it with you guys in Charleston, don’t they teach to how to read? Come let’s go, there’s things here, read ‘em.

Suspect 1: Come on I don’t want to read that, this shit, it doesn’t sound….

Detective 3: I’m not asking you, it’s not a choice, I’m not asking you, I’m telling you.

Suspect 1: I’m trying to make this shit sound fucking ________________.

Detective 3: Authen…what?

Scene 4: Suspect Interrogation

Detective 4: Hey Dougie, how are ya?

Suspect 2: How ya doing? Local crime fighter, what’s happening Dino?

Detective 4: I’m sorry about your father.

Suspect 2: Yeah, me too.

Detective 4: Got a few years left on his bid.

Suspect 2: Yeah one or two.

Detective 4: I hear they go after the old guy, split him off the back, fucking animals. You’d think they go after a younger kid. I don’t know, making a statement I guess. Tommy Cruise ain’t what they used to be. Dorchester, Southie, looking to make a move. Maybe you can change all that when you get up there.

Suspect 2: Let me ask you a question. What do you call a guy who grows up with a group of people and gets to know all their intimate secrets, the stories of their lives, because they trust them, and uses those secrets against them to put them in prison? You’d call him a rat, right? You know what I’d call him….
